Social Investigation

A Social Investigator is an individual that is appointed by the court during high conflict divorce or child custody cases. A social investigator must be a licensed therapist, psychologist, attorney or social worker who works as an impartial professional. Their job is to conduct an investigation into the lives of the parents and the relationship between the parents and their minor children. Usually, when parents cannot agree on a parenting plan a social investigation is ordered by the court to address issues specific to the family.
